If you are cruising in the Gulf Islands, it may be useful to call ahead to the marinas you are planning to visit and reserve a berth.&nbsp; We have found some marinas are fully booked.

One safety tip is filing a float plan with someone on shore.&nbsp; The plan should include names and contact information for captain and all crew on board, itinerary of your cruise, and time you will be returning to home base.
