Standard Horizon HX850S Handheld Radio and GPS Waterproof and it floats. This is the radio I own. Waypoint Marine, on Harbour Rd in Sidney, is a dealer for this radio and the PFD below.

This is the Mustang MD3183 - Deluxe Inflatable PFD with HIT (auto hydrostatic activation) which I have used extensively. Comfortable and easy to wear.

I have just received a new MD3153 HD inflatable. All the benefits of the MD3183 plus the heavy duty fabric improves puncture and abrasion resistance and is easy to clean. Other new innovations include a damage-tolerant inflator cover - no more cracked inspection windows. I will post my observations after I have a chance to use it. Our son has used this PFD two mornings on his job and his comment was "Way more comfortable".

The dory plans are interesting but now quite what I am looking for. What I need is plans for a 13-14 ft modified dory that  nests so I can use it as a cruising workhorse powered by oars or Torqeedo o/b on our Durbeck 46. This dory seems to be quite heavy and suited for use on its own.

I like the dory design because it consists of flat panels so can be built of aluminum or cored carbon and kevlar. The panels can be cut out then assembled with welding or stitch and glue. So far I have not found suitable plans.

Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Take a look at http://www.devlinboat.com/ I don't see a nesting dinghy, however he has a number of designs.

I did a search on "nesting dinghy" and found over 94,000sites.  Here are two:
