Our Mission

At Gulf Islands Cruising School Ltd., we work to help people realize their full boating potential. We provide professional Power Boat, Sail Boat and Navigation courses to share our knowledge of boating and the Gulf Islands area. 

Company ProfileFran & Bruce Stott

Bruce and Fran Stott founded Gulf Islands Cruising School Ltd in 1980. 
They are the oldest boating school in BC, if not Canada, still under original ownership. 
By combining Bruce's experience on a wide variety of boats and Fran's travel background they began by offering Learn-to-Cruise sailing vacations.  Canadian Yachting Association Standards for sail boat, power boat, and coastal navigation were added.  Private instruction for boat owners is their specialty. 

Bruce is an accredited examiner for the Pleasure Craft Operator Card as well as VHF Restricted Operator Certificate- Maritime (ROC-M).  Gulf Islands Cruising School Ltd is a member of the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and a Canadian Yachting Association Member School.
